My Husband was diagnosed with blood in his poo after being given a double dose of blood thinners in error by a local Hospital, he was already on 300mg of Dabigatran then was prescribed 75mg Clopidogrel as well which he was quickly taken off by our own Doctor, has anyone been diagnosed with blood in their poo from taking Dabigatran

Is he taking it in two doses? I take 150 in the morning and then 150 in the evening and I have not had any problem with it .

Apart from the obvious caution about cutting yourself it is probably the only medicine I take that doesn't cause problems ( as far as I know )

`Yes` he takes it twice a day. Just think it all started with the Hospital prescribing a double dose of blood thinners, that`s when the blood in the poo showed up, he really needs another poo test.

I wish you well in seeing if the bleeding situation has gone.

Are you sure it is the medication causing this and not a colorectal condition?

He`s had test for all that and nothing showed up but the `bloody` poo was only evident after he was given the double dose of blood thinners. What he really needs is another poo test but trying to see a Doctor is just impossible.
