Critical illness insurance

I have a bicuspid aortic valve am 37, have no symptoms but am reviewed annually for any change which there has not been any for at least the past 5 years but have just been refused critical illness cover by Scottish widows. Has anyone with same condition managed to get critical illness insurance?

I'd recommend a call to a broker to see what they can recommend. Some companies will accept pre-existing conditions or cover the 'usual' illnesses but exclude your specific condition. Good description here from Aviva's website: aviva.co.uk/insurance/life-...

It is going to be very difficult and/expensive to get insurance to cover an existing condition. As suggested, I too recommend talking to a good broker, and certainly not looking at the various on-line offerings.
