Heart Rate monitor that than cope with Atrial Fibrillation

Hi, I'm new here. I've had AF for about 10 yrs and been running for years before that. My old Pulsar heart rate monitor coped without any difficulty but, unfortunately it's now given up the ghost and they don't make this model any more.

I've tried a couple of new monitors but they just don't work.

Has anyone found a monitor that works with AF?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I'm dyslexic and I meant "my old Polar monitor"! What's the saying "Dyslexics rule OK"

I've got a Sportline HR monitor and have the same problem. When using it at the gym the HR monitor on the gym machine (which also picks up the signal from the chestband) shows a completely different reading to the watch.

By it's nature Afib means an irregulat heart rate and this confuses simple sample counting machines. I have two BP machines which also have a problem, keep coming back with error reports.

I'd also be interested if anyone has found a HR monitor which works with an irregular heartbeat.

Thanks for that, as I said my old Polar - not Pulsar, I'm dyslexic! - worked fine but the modern ones can't see to cope

I have AF, I use an Apple Watch, the bpm are very accurate. When my palpitations were bad, and I was in A&E, the hospital monitor and my watch was near enough the same reading. Doctor was impressed by my watch. It’s expensive but to me worth it. Hope this helps. X
