After a bad experience with Artavostatin which caused seriously deranged liver, am about to start on 10mg of Pravarstatin to see if I can tolerate it. Will be monitored via blood tests. How has anyone else found this one?

I was told by a consultant it is a good one. Never been given it. Good luck. 10mg shouldn't cause side effects

Atorvastatin 80 mg caused serious liver damage with me, when the liver recovered, I was put on 10mg, still caused liver damage, I don't take a statin anymore, but I do have have more HDLs than LDLs, in other words more of the good than the bad.

Thank you for reply. Like you, I still had liver damage when atorvastatin was was reduced (from 80 mg to 20 mg). Will wait & see if I can tolerate statins at all.

My liver recovered before I was put on 10mg but got damaged again, not as badly the second time round. Good luck with the next try, hope all goes well.

Morning,

I am on pravastatin 10mg, started in approx 3 months ago and have had no side effects and blood tests fine so far. My lipid consultant recommended this as it is safe with the warfarin I require. (After starting the statin I had to do an INR test every week for one month, there was a variation up and down but within my target range).
