What's the new Anticoag called and what's ur target INR? My dad was in warfarin since 2000 for a metal heart valve. He had a bleed two years ago and again this year. What is anti coag for?

By chance are you taking aspirin as well as the warfarin. They have research that is showing aspirin, even low dose aspirin, is the culprit causing internal bleeds. Most cardiologists here in the States are taking their patients off aspirin because of that research.

Also, how frequently do you check your INR? Perhaps it needs to be checked more frequently. Many folks do once a week home monitoring so that you don’t get out of the 2-3 INR range.

All the Best!
