Blood Pressure with Aortic Stenosis

Hello,

So I am quite new to all of this and honestly I have never had any concerns surrounding my congenital heart disease. In fact whilst growing up I would often wonder why I would be visiting the hospital to go through regular assessments as a child, including key-hole balloon treatment at a young age when I was always a fit individual.

Now in my late 20's I am beginning to notice things a little bit more, things of which I would normally associate with my own general fitness however with being a rather fit individual and recently completing my first half marathon in March I feel that perhaps these occasions of shortness of breath / breathlessness and palpation's are perhaps not associated to my general fitness and potentially my heart problems.

With the modern world ever growing around technology I invested in a Smart Watch during the initial deployment of the Series 2, ironically at the same time I had a regular heart appointment with a consultant and at the time felt it appropriate to compare the data I was receiving from the device in comparison to that of the device within the hospital to my amazement it was actually accurate.

Now with changes in my health I felt given my condition it was appropriate to invest in a blood pressure monitor to which I have done recently, however quite honestly I have absolutely no idea what I am looking at and what I should be concerned with given my own condition.

Whilst I have been using this blood pressure monitor I have had a variety of readings ranging from 106/73 to 155/92, whilst these readings are appearing to be consistently within the High-Normal and Hypertension 1 areas. With the device I have it connects directly to an app and provides a good user friendly graph based on information from the World Health Organisation.

Now I am not one to particularly get too worried with reading information I don't fully understand which is why I am hear hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a person who quite honestly for much of their life has ignored their heart condition and how it can affect their life.

Blood pressure varies all the time depending on whether you have rested for 5 minutes before taking the reading, whether you have been exercising etc. How severe is your stenosis? It may be worthwhile looking into to taking Vitamin K2 with menaquin as there are some clinical trials that research the possibility that this may reduce/stop the calcification of the aortic valve. It is pretty difficult to know what to do, apart from trying to adopt a more plant based diet and listening to your specialist. If you take warfarin you cannot take Vit K2- so check this out too. All the best Ron
