Ejection Fraction keeps falling - will exercise help?

Hello has anyone managed to improve their ejection fraction by exercise? I lost my confidence when diagnosed 4 years ago but my ejection fraction keeps falling so am forcing myself to do exercise every day now. It’s gone from 57% to 45% in 4 years and the last drop was by 6%. My consultant said he’s doing everything he can (I know he is) and to let him do the worrying.

My EF was 16 % after HA last April. I have heart failure now. I walk at a pace which pushes me but doesn’t leave me completely breathless, and have got up to an hour a day. I also do some gym work, and a bit on a static bike 2 or 3 times a week. My EF is now 48% and I am essentially asymptomatic, so for me, yes, exercise has helped, but it’s the drugs too. Also, I was very fit when I had the HA - walking and heavy gym work 4 times a week. Just move as much as you can within your limits and listen to your body. If you’re knackered be careful about the temptation to push yourself through it if you’re that way inclined. Ask your cardiologist about the exercise you want to do. Good luck.
