Pitching?

Hi I am on cancer treatments and just had an echo'. I asked if all was ok to be told "I am a little concerned about your pitching". I didn't ask at the time what this meant so was wondering if anyone can enlighten me. She did say she was not unduly concerned. Thanks

Hello and welcome! You do not say what area was scanned during the ultrasound test. Although the underlying science is much the same there are various types of ultrasound test. One type of test is the Doppler where an estimate of blood flow can be made by comparing the transmitted and reflected frequencies (pitch). In imaging better resolution can be achieved by using higher frequencies but higher frequencies result in decreased tissue penetration. So without details of what the echo was for it is impossible to comment. If you are unsure it may be best to ring the GP/consultant who requested the scan.
