Increase in Medication

Hi

Just been to see Cardiologist after stents in March. All is going good, Valves working fine, EF 42%. BP a little High but can be anywhere from 165 down to 110 with pulse from 40 to 60. Cardiologist wants to increase Bisoprolol to 10mg currently on 5mg Morning and 2.5mg at night and she also wants to increase Candesartan from 8mg to 16 mg !!

She asked would I feel comfortable being Discharged from the Cardiology Intervention Clinic and letting the Heart Failure Nurse titrate my medication. Yep on both counts was my reply. I have a great GP and Heart Nurse so feel good that I have access to great care anytime I should feel I am in need of it. So the only thing is my ectopic beats have become a little more random, so just waiting now for a 24 hour tape just to see what's going on. QRS has widened a little more so she just wants to check it out, not quite ready for CRT just yet LOL.

Feel really positive, having Good Care is key to feeling well and looking forward to the future.

Sounds good, Frank. Hope you get on OK with the medication changes. In my experience, the heart failure nurse has been a champion at balancing doses, hopefully yours is the same. Good luck!

I’m under a cardiologist for life and have a cardiac nurse at the mo so my brows may be different as I was born with a heart condition but I love the fact I’m under a cardiologist and trust they are fully looked after my heart condition so wouldn’t want to be discharged.
