Looking forward to the future.

Hi, Thank you for adding me to your community. I had a severe angina attack on 23rd May 2018, was rushed to my local A&E and within 10 days had a Quadruple Heart Bypass (CABG) operation. 7 weeks since the operation, I am now at home and my recovery is going really well, so far with no complications. I realise this has been a life changing event and my wife and I have drastically changed our diet and lifestyle to try and ensure a full recovery. Obviously I am still having to take things easy and I would be interested to learn of other peoples experiences of what I can expect to be able to achieve in the coming few months. Thanks.

Hi Bernie

Wow on that exact date you were having your angina attack I was going down for my angiogram and stent procedure.

Had the stent but still having a lot of chest pain

I'm now off to London hospital tomorrow for a cardiac MRI profusion scan to see if I'm suffering from vasospastic angina or primeval angina.

I wish it would just go..

It's definitely changed my life and family and work life..

I get very emotional when the pain starts.

But glad your moving forward albeit slowly I hope

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply. So we are both still in the early stages of recovery and I'm sorry that you are still suffering chest pain even after your operation. I'll have to Google the two angina conditions to understand the ramifications, but I do hope that your MRI scan results provides a solution to your pain issues. I too was in excruciating pain after the op and no exactly what you are going through and feel for you.

My bypass operation was obviously very different to what you underwent and the chest pain I have been experiencing, which is normal after such an operation, is not angina related but due to the operation itself, the cutting of the breast bone and the opening of the chest cavity etc. etc.

But 7 weeks after the operation I can honestly say I am virtually pain free, so I am very lucky in that respect. Full recovery, so I am told can take from 6 to 12 months but my progress so far has been good.

My best wishes and hope that your suffering ends very soon and you make full recovery soon after. Keep in touch.
