Does anyone know how long I may have to wait for a stress MRI at Papworth? So far it has been four months since my referral. I don't think my issue is serious and so I am not an urgent case. But I am due to see my cardiac consultant in August and would like to have the results by then.

Consultant not at Papworth. Secretary told me some time ago that it was in hand and that I would get a letter from Papworth. It came as a surprise that it wasn't done at my local hospital. That was never mentioned and I have little knowledge of such matters. I'll ring Papworth and find out, I just didn't want to bother them and possibly seem impatient. Four months seems a long time to wait for a heart investigation when I have an annual diabetic eye screen that gets arranged in minutes.
Hi and thanks. Spoke to them. They confirmed they have a long waiting list but didn't say how long. Confirmed I was on their system and then I got the impression that my calling had identified a problem as I was quickly told of them looking at Saturday appointments and I would get a letter, end of conversation. I don't actually know when I will get a letter.
I fully accept that they are under pressure and I am confident that I am nowhere near a priority. I don't see the point of having a consultation in August without the required test results. What with holidays looming there isn't actually much time to fit in an appointment given that when I get it I don't expect it to be the next week.
What I don't get is why they didn't schedule me in as soon as they got the request in February. OK it may have been for July but at least I could make plans and know I have not been forgotten. But then as an ex admin. manager the administration within the NHS leaves me shaking my head at times.
Hi, got diagnosed with HOCM just before Xmas. They put me on the NHS waiting list, but I found it to difficult waiting not knowing. Made the decision to go private. Was in and out within 7 days.
