Is it possible to have azithromycin with lbbb and lqt? It is very worrying that the heart conditions seem to preclude me from taking this drug as it could be very beneficial for me. The same conditions preclude me from taking biologics for my RA. I am colonised with pseudomonas and if l have an infection l must go into hospital for iv tazacin as the oral meds cause Lqts. Am l alone in this predicament or are others in similar position?

First time l have posted here and hoping to find some answers. Because of the heart conditions and colonisation of pseudomonas l feel that my life has now changed completely. Been so used to being able to look after myself l now see hospitalisation as the future. Hope someone on here may be able to offer some advice. Thank you.

The US FDA issued a warning in 2013 about the use of azithromycin in cardiac patients as it can interfere with the electrical signals to the heart. I’m guessing, therefore, that this antibiotic would be regarded as posing something of a risk given your LBBB diagnosis.

Please note, I am not medically trained, as is the case for most people on the site. My response is just based on a bit of research.

Thank you very much for your reply. As l thought. I am a real problem for my doctors as you can imagine. I will try not to worry too much about it and hope that l do not get too many infections caused by pseudomonas. Regards Maureen.
