cardiac arrest
I am eight weeks post stent and get very anxious worrying all the time , but you cant let yourself get stressed as it just makes thing worse, you are not alone we are all on a journey some better than others some worse !
Hi there
It will pass, for both of you. I'm sure for Christine the interval between thinking is getting longer whereas initially it probably filled most of your day.
Hopefully your symptoms have been easing too which should help
Take care Mark
I had 3 by pass 12 weeks ago, and at first I didn’t recognize my feelings as fear.. I couldn’t sleep until I literally fell out after 2 to 3 days of staying up through the night 😩. But as time rolls on and my confidence grew these sleepless nights are becoming fewer.. I’m actually having problems “letting go” tonight, however, the last 5 nights I got to sleep pretty easily.. so the fear starts to have gaps, but does it fully disappear? I hope so.
My fears disappeared over time. I remember the first time my wife went to work after my op, I was frightened stiff! I would recommend that you guys join your local support groups. BHF have a list and your GPs should know about them in your area.
I’m 6 months post triple CABG and I think about my heart every day and I don’t know that I will ever stop. But I don’t worry about it any longer, I know I am doing all the right things and I know when something doesn’t feel right. So the fear does pass with time and you can get back to being you again. It just takes time. Steve
Hi
The fears do get less and less, now 4 months post MI and my mind has settled down, however it doesnt mean that you wont get bad days/ nights, you will, I had one the other day petrified after a walk when I was tired and my chest hurt. However you learn to understand your body and move on.
Trust me it gets easier, that's in no way belittling how you feel, I think most of us on here have suffered the awful anxiety in some way, but it does improve.
Good luck with your recovery.
