Can anyone relate to my day. Started out ok went out didn’t feel brilliant but carried on anyway. Started feeling restricted in my breathing feeling short of breath I was in a supermarket at the time so I decided to go to the checkout ASAP by now the chest is heavy taking 5 mins in the car just to sit still and try to relax just to make it stop started thinking is this one of those times when they said call an ambulance. I didn’t sat still long enough to just feel a bit better eventually I got home and the rest of the day when I thought I was good enough to do something I did only to start up the pressure in my chest. My question to others are these symptoms common for super ventricular tachycardia I await any response.

Hi, in short they are common symptoms, when our hearts beat out of sink it causes lack of oxygenated blood to our organs which causes the breathlessness and heavy chest discomfort. I have the same problem and the chest pain can last a good few hours. I was initially started on beta blockers but because my BP was not consistently high they were not suitable, not sure if they have tried you on any medication? I wasn’t offered ablation but when you have this it should resolve your problem but it may take more than one go, so prepare yourself for that. I’m now going to be tried on calcium channel blockers or anti arrhythmia tablets, it may be an option while you wait for ablation.
Speak to your GP to be on the safe side and discuss your options.
Good Luck and I will follow your progress
Hi Kirsty
Thank you for your help sounds like you are the same as me. I’ve had this going on for years. Tried a vast selection of medication finally they said ablation and after it was explained to me it seemed the way to go. Yesterday was just one of those days I guess. Yes I’m going to keep in touch with my ablation procedure to hopefully help others I’ve found this site a real help just knowing that my symptoms are like others seems to help and swapping information is great to gain a better understanding. Thanks Kirsty
