October 2017 I was rushed into hospital with suspected heart attack at the age of 38... a week of tests and being very poorly in hospital. My results came back with heart attack due to blood clot in my heart, heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy and irregular hearbeat. My symptoms was misdiagnosed by my go for many months and I am now on a range of medications which are are slowly being increased and l learning to adjust to my new lifestyle with taking medication and regular hospital appointments Xx

What a hard time you’ve had. And it must all have been such a huge a shock.

But, once you’re through the shock, comes the hard work.... of building yourself up physically and psychologically, as we say here ‘there is a good life to be had, after heart events’ ... you just have to work out what it looks and feels like, for you.

Mine has changed a lot. I do some of the same things (walking, films, socialising, writing) but lots of exciting new stuff (painting, exercise classes, travelling in the UK), but now it’s all v carefully paced.

Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

I would recommend that you watch the film "Forks Over Knives" it is on Netflix and YouTube. It is about global medical heart research and the findings. You might find it helpful.
