Cycling after heart attack
Hi there, have you spoken to your gp or cardiologist? Did you undergo cardiac rehab ? After your heart attack did you undergo any procedures like stents or bypass? My own GP suggested six months to me after a quad bypass assuming my sternum has healed correctly. It's now nearly ten months and I feel just about ready
Hi there - most people are safe to start cycling (start off slowly!) after a heart attack. If you're not sure, have a chat with your doctor. Maybe start off with some brisk walking first if you're a little apprehensive and see how you cope.
Hope this helps, Chris
Go see a cardiologist whose worked with athletes they will put you through a proper stress test to see how your heart responds. If there's anything odd going on you'll know. They'll also provide you with a plan of how to ease yourself back to your previous levels. After something like this some people will find the hardest thing is to let go of what happened and get on with their life as it was.
Out of interest why did you say cycling caused it?
