I'm new here haven't had much help from docs after diagnosis of clots on lungs after collapsing, still faint,is it clots or heart strain

I couldn't breathe properly for a couple of weeks, 27/6 passed out on the street, taken to the hospital, multiple clots through lungs veins to the base, my right heart straining diagnosed. Since then, I still have trouble breathing, I get very light headed, almost fainting again. My oxygen levels in my blood always seem to be normal so doctors just say it's the depression I'm being treated for causes it. But my heart is straining, even when I'm resting my pulse can be up to 80, 85. Can my heart manage to keep my oxygen levels up when it strains like this, so does that straining me faint? What should I do when I feel lightheaded, just rest at home, go to A+E, do I need to make changes to my life style

Hello, you haven't mentioned how old you are, whether you've suffered any other heart related illnesses? How are you measuring your pulse? Id it possibke you are hyper-ventilatiing? What was the outcome post your 27/6 episode? Any medication are the clots cleared?

Well anxiety can be really cruel, if it is that. And you would feel lightheaded etc.

I was a St John 1st adder. Some people would ache all over, be sick, trouble breathing etc.

However, it could also be sideffects of any medication you may be on.

I would talk to your Gp again. However if in yourself, you really don't think it is hyperventilating from anxiety.

Then tell them this is how you feel. Maybe if you don't think they are taking you seriously. Then ask for a second opinion.

Looking into diet is always a great idea. The nurse at your surgery could give advice & support in that area.

Could always contact cardiac nurse on this site, between 9/5pm.

In the mean time, if you feel light headed again.

Slow down from whatever youbare doing.

Make sure you are hydrated.

Lay on the floor, legs elevated, no pillow under head.

Then count to ten really slowly, concintrate on your breathing. Nice deep breaths in between.

Of course if you get chest pains, that are not usual 111 or 999.

Sit up, chest a little forward, knees bent.

If you do have chest pain & dizziness, stay on the floor until someone can help. Family/emergency services etc.

If you are on the floor, you can't fall & hurt yourself.

If it is anxiety, then the worst thing is to get unessasraly upset. That is where the breathing exorcises will help you.

Keep us updated on how you are doing. I recon, just know you have support on here. Will help you to feel better. Take care, Jo :)
