The other thing that causes me to overeat is conditioning. I was raised in a family that used food to celebrate, commiserate, stress and just for plain filling the time. Now that's the hardest part of the overeating habit to break (for me anyway!)

Because it tastes so good, I almost can't get enough....

Eating and binging when not actually hungry happens when I am alone in the house and have been being really strict with my calories; something "gives" and all of a sudden I am a runaway train, eating everything that I have been denying myself!

Important therefore to allow the occasional treat and to plan busy activities to do when left home alone. Dieting too strictly seems to precipitate this type of random overeating.

Also, the more other people tell me not to....the more I want to break the rules....the ability to refuse food has to come from within me, and not because other people say so.

It's just the memory of what I used to like. I eat it and find I don't like the taste anymore usually because it's too sweet
