Got the mirena coil had it for 3 years but now I have been suffering from bv. Don’t know what to do

Hello Shazzer,

Are you suffering from recurrent bacterial vaginosis (BV) and attributing this to the Mirena? Is this what you mean? If you are otherwise happy with the Mirena and recurrent BV is the main issue, have you tried suppressive treatment with courses of metronidazole/intravaginal boric acid or dequalinium pessaries? If not, I suggest you try to attend your local GU medicine/sexual health clinic for further advice.

Thanks for the advice. When me and my partner have sex there is a fishy smell. Going to go to the doctors and see what they say
