I'm not an expert Ellie... but sphere +.50 means that you are slightly long sighted in both eyes. The eye ball can change shape from being round to becoming more cylindrical...that's called an astigmatism... that's the info your optican needs to make sure the lens in your glasses is made properly to compensate for your current eyesight. 0.25 is quite low, but it's saying your eye shape is not quite perfectly round and needs correcting... the axis tells them whether this is horizontally or vertically... from memory I think 90 is vertically... whereas 180 would be horizontally. You might remember the test where you saw a straightline across and you were asked where you saw some dots in relation to that line.. then the line changed to straight up/down and again they asked where you saw the lights... either to the left or the right. when you've got a mo... just have a read up on the net... or go and ask your optician... they don't bite!
