Does anyone else's ankles give way?? I've had ankle supports for a few weeks now and i'm a lot more confident.
Hi Helen92
My ankles do give way occasionally but I put that down to having injured them both in the past and therefore the muscles are not as strong as they used to be. I do have problems with both knees in that they give way when I am least expecting it and for no reason. Very annoying.
I am delighted you you feel more confident with ankle supports. Have they been especially fitted to you?
Harriet
Yes, the muscles in my ankles are very weak too and were causing me to fall and i twisted my knee badly so my knees are weak and give way even more than they used to.. very annoying!
They aren't fitted especially for me but they do come in different sizes to fit comfortably. I got them from my physiotherapist.

No, not ankles here either but painful and collapsing knees are a great problem. They've been examined by an orthopaedic surgeon but no mechanical problems found. A cortisone injection relieved the pain for a few months and the collapsing seemed to stop.
Hello Helen92, Yes I have problems with my ankles and I have recently been referred by my physiotherapy to orthotics to have a splints made to support my ankles especially my right. I have varus of the ankle which is lateral ankle ligaments lengthened compromising stabilty of joint. As this has been happening over a period of time it won't correct it's self so a splint will help keep the ankle straight if I don't use it there is a risk of fracture of ankle which of course I would not want. So I understand what you are going through, good luck with the supports. Diamond1
