HiYep.. have been on Benra for just about 12 months now... inject myself at home - easy! It’s a game changer if you have eosinophilic asthma and get through the list of criteria to qualify!

Was a bit worried ( and still am tbh) about long term side effects? But you have to look at the pros and cons of what is best for you personally.

Been on it since May 2019. I do get side effects but Liveable for me and a lot better than the constant admissions I used to have!

Started it last month been so far a game changer. Just allow a gap between this and a covid jab I had both within a week and after the covid jab was walloped felt like I had been hit by a bus and then reversed over.

The only thing that was said at covid jab was that because of the biologic treatment that the covid jab wont be as effective but not sure by how much

I’ve been on Benralizumab since November and it has transformed my life. I’ve not had a chest infection/40 mgs steroid course for over three months. That used to be a monthly event for about four years. Good luck I really hope it works as well for you.

My daughter had mepo injection for 12 months which kept her out of hospital but still couldn’t get off steriods. Moved over to this in January and within 3 injections eosinophils down to a normal level and now weaning off steriods. As others said it’s a game changer.

I started Benra in January, due my second one next week. I felt tired and had a headache for around a week, apart from that I have been absolutely fine. I have definitely noticed a reduction in the amount of Ventolin I’ve have been using. I found myself running up the stairs the other day without realising it 😂 Prior to Benra I can’t remember the last time that happened! I’ve been told they take a few months to get in the system to take full effect. First three injections are a month apart and then every 8 weeks thereafter, hoping to inject myself at home. I’ve also had my Covid vaccination and was advised to have them a week apart. Good luck 🤞🏻

I received my first injection march 2020 and I have not had so much as a wheeze since then and my sinus polyps have completely disappeared. I had severe, almost unbearable sinus pain, daily and I don't have any pain now. I still have to take my inhalers but my tiotropium has been stopped. I never thought I could be symptom free. I have not had any antibiotics or oral steroids since Feb 2020. I can walk 10, 000 steps a day and my fitness levels have vastly improved.

I've been on Benra for about 2 years now and my asthma is much better, after the first month on it my lung capacity had increased by a litre due to the reduction of inflammation, I now have the injection delivered to my home and take it every 2 months. It's worked well for me.

Hi I’m still on nucala, the effects are starting to where off. I am a biologics nurse, and teach patients to self injection, and have heard so many positive reviews about Benra injections. Thinking of asking if I can be switched over. Sadly I am working from home due to shielding, and really missing visits to my patients, and my teaching role.

I started on Benralizumab in August 2019, honestly it's the best thing thats ever happened to me. I was having asthma attacks every other month that sent me into hospital, each attack would be the same, id end up on antibiotics, high courses of steroids. It was debilitating and ruining my life for the most part. The hospital specialists were horrified that an 18 year old could be this ill and so basically rushed to get permission for Benralizumab for me because I wasn't eligible for the other biologics, i was the first patient where I live on it so it was all a little bit weird and a learning curve for us all. I stayed on 10mg of maintenance prednisolone and since being on Benralizumab, I've not had a single asthma attack and I'm on 5mg on pred now. I got lucky in having an incredible experience on it, but I know that it doesn't work for some.

I've literally just signed off on home care for it (delayed bc of covid), its a simple process, I had my mum train to inject it for me over the last 3 doses (even though its an autoinject pen so doesn't require work, I was just nervous).

If you want me to send some photos of the booklets I have on Benralizumab or give you an idea of anything else, feel free to message me! Personally though, I can't put it into words how much Benralizumab has been the miracle drug for me. I really hope its the same for you!!

Thank you so much for your reply. It is so comforting to hear that so many have had such a good result. You are so young to have had to go through so much. I’m at the other end of the spectrum, feeling older by the minute due to my asthma which was fairly late onset. I hope you go from strength to strength, and free yourself from the steroid Merry go round! All the best.

Hi ameliaI suffer with asthma/bronch. And high eos have had to stop work. Have suffered for 30yrs and now getting worse. I have am appt with con in August just wondered if its worth mentioning it? Why hasn't he thought of this? Instead of the normal 40mg steroid etc...
