Hi I have been on bricanyl bump for nearly 7 weeks now, my consultant said I would have to have a break from it every now and again and be admitted to hospital to have iv Aminophilline as a replacement, does anyone know how long you can be on bricanyl pump for before you need a break. Thanks

Hi, i have been on bricalyn for around four years now.I was on it for at least 1 and half years before my hospital had the regular facility to do IV aminophline. It varies for each person some patients have a bricalyn break every 6 weeks but as the beds are elective this rarely happens.See how you go and what your hospital offers, but over tie you will see what works best for you.It does make the bricalyn more effective in my experience as it seems the body can get a little used to the bricalyn

Hope this helps.

This is the longest I have been out of hospital since January, and dont fancy going back in anytime soon even if it is for a break off bricanyl, hopefully its a year and a half like you.
