That one can be taken daily

The most likely way to control Asthma is to take any inhaler like the brown ones regularly.

I had Beclo-forte for many years and took it daily.

I now use Symbicort 100/6 which I take twice in the morning and once in the evening.

The Brown inhaler is a corticosteroid. Almost everyone with Asthma, except those with very mild or occasional symptoms are prescribed one. They come in different Colours and strengths, they also come with different delivery systems. Two important things. It's best to use it with a spacer and secondly rinse your mouth well after using.

The inhaler may take 5 days for you to start noticing a difference and a couple of weeks to really kick in. So worth persevering with.

Hope you are feeling better

Hi Shannon. I've just been through your previous posts. Two things: firstly, asthma is nobody's fault (I've had hayfever for 50 years, and that's not my fault either - it's just another allergic response we have no control over); secondly, although it's a blow, there are plenty on this forum who have been through this and have managed to control it and come out the other side. You're probably getting the right treatment for the asthma, but you don't seem to be getting any for the worry. Don't be afraid to ask for some help with that as well; there are some effective remedies for that, too - I know, I've been there! Hope you feel better soon.

I do😞 Why does everyone have different ones xo

Cos the other colours are higher strength because other people on here need higher stuff to control their asthma

Your on a lower level of a preventer brown is the one I started on and then I went to a purple one which is stronger and now I'm on symbicort

Everyone has different ones because every asthma is different and need different meds to control and treat their asthma

Stay strong

And also you should take your inhaler as prescribed whatever the doc told you to do you should be doing it

Are you new to asthma if so I suggest you talk to your gps and asthma nurses about everything that your unsure of about what to do it's fine to ask questions because the better understanding you have the easier it will be to cope and control asthma. Go on to the asthma UK website and have a read through because that might help clear up somethings your unsure of

Good luck with your asthma journey

Take care

Hi Shanon, don't blame yourself at all. Asthma doesn't give anyone a choice, I was really upset when I went on the brown inhaler years ago as I thought I had my asthma under control but after coming to terms with it, it has helped me manage lots better especially during the transition between winter and spring/summer. Now I'm upset with Summer, don't like it at all as that's when it's really bad 😊 X
