I know reflux can cause you to cough, although I know that's not the case with me. before I was put on omeprazole before I was throwing up 3-4 times a week out of the blue which was put down to silent reflux as it stopped once I'd been put on antiacid medication, I was taken off it and it started again. my breathing wasn't affected either way by it.

I find that when I've been coughing a lot/after attacks, I get the most horrible reflux known to man.. nothing helps with it - I drink gaviscon double action out of the bottle to try make it go away and it barely touches it.

I know reflux can cause coughing but can coughing cause reflux?

I have a cons appointment on tuesday, so I'm gonna ask about it. just wondered if anyone's had any experience with coughing causing reflux before then.

Hi,

Yes, coughing can cause acid reflux, thus turning the whole reflux-coughing-reflux thing into a vicious cycle!
