New homepage & site widening

Hello all

You may have just noticed that we now have a new homepage and our site is wider! We hope this will make it more user-friendly and better showcase the work that we do. All questions and feedback welcome

Yes there are a few bugs which we're still sorting out!

If you're still having problems, might be worth clearing your browsing history.

The wider page is much easier to view, and work with. Nice one. One thing, could we have a link to the forums at the top of the home page, save scrolling to the bottom?

love the new page but its a shame it only wroks with internet explorer at the moment and not firefox, if i try to acess it using firefox it goes all distorted adn you cant click on anything !

are you sure, I'm using firefox 3.5, and it seems OK to me.

Just checked and edited using 'TheWorld' browser, OK thats IE based, but worth a try.

im sure just tried it again , i dont no what firefox edition it is but not working still

i have both IE and firefox installed , i personally prefere firefox but if its not working im happy to use IE for the time being

To find out what version of FF you are using, click on HELP, then click ABOUT MOZILLA FIREFOX, you'll get a little box, and a version number under the picture.

One thing that the forum isn't doing is emailing out notification of new posts.

I have just downloaded the newer version of firefox as mine was behaving oddly too, you also need to clear your browsers history for it to work properly. Auk is coming up perfectly now

I love using Google Chrome for my internet surfing, but find at present it is useless for accessing AUK. Only Internet Explorer will work,hence this post. AUK please tweak your website prefer Google Chrome as I get a more reliable and faster connection.

I like the new wide-screen effect, makes all the info easier to see and access. A good change

Katina, we'll look into the Google Chrome issue.

Woody-som, we've made the forums much more prominent than before - the latest posts now show up at the bottom of every page. Also, the wider pages are not so long which reduces the need for scrolling. It's been tricky to get the right balance with such a large amount of content to display, hopefully this is a good compromise?

We do appreciate all your feedback, and if you come across any further bugs or glitches please do let us know.

If anyone is having problems viewing the site you can try clearing your cache. This is usually found in the tools section of browsers.

Re: Google Chrome

I've been lucky, as never had a problem accessing the site on Chrome. Our broadband is BT.

I do know some folks have problems with Talk Talk.

Keep up the good work. I do like the new look.

Still cannot access AUK with Google Chrome and my broad band is with Talk Talk, though its strange that Internet Explorer fine. Never had a problem prior to AUK changing their website using Google Chrome and Talk Talk. Pointless talking to Talk Talk, their customer service is dire, their answer to everything via Technical Support India is turn computer off and back on again. Oh well it just means I either change my broadband supplier or get used to only having limited access via Internet Explorer and AUK. Prefer Google Chrome because I find it faster and more reliable than Internet Explorer.
