Well I used to suffer with it terrible mucous but since then the breathing and lethargy have got worse but never cough up anything, it's strange how the illness changes in its presentation as it progresses. I am sure there are people who can help on here, they are the experts in their experience of these conditions. I am 50 years old and have asthma and copd, my fev1 % is 63%. Unfortunately I have been a smoker since the age of 13 on and off, how silly I was!

Sometimes. Some days I seem to produce mucous which means I have to clear my throat or cough to move it quite a lot, other days I seem to have nothing to very little. I don't know why, can't understand it.

Sometimes i do but not all the time and i have severe copd,, i recomend giving the BLF helpline a ph in the morning 2morr..They know much more than we do,take care... :)

I get this most of the time, it looks like I'm trying to attract someone's attention all the time! I also have a sore throat 50% of the time as well.

I have severe COPD stage 4 and I sometimes have this problem but never really cough or bring any mucus up.I find that Beechams All in One helps but as it's a bit expensive I was thinking of asking my respiratory nurse about it. Keep smiling.

I have to clear my throat constantly. I don't know if it's due to the COPD itself or whether my throat is being irritated by my dry powder inhaler. I feel as if I want to bring up phlegm but can't. If you find a "cure", let me know.
