Once again, the words Everyone is Different come into play. It's difficult to define as some people will simply not need, or benefit from, oxygen, even if their levels fall below someone already using it.

The doctors and consultants get paid thousands to try and make these decisions, but you will not find a set procedure laid down where they say you have to be below a certain level and then you will need oxygen.

They are the ones you need to be asking. For some more general guidance, call the BLF helpline and they can try to explain this further.

Many thanks Gordon will give BLF helpline a call...

A respiratory nurse told me as she was monitoring me during PR session if my sat dropped more than 4% during mild exercise then I would need ambulatory oxygen.

Some weeks later when it did I was put on oxy 15 hours per day.

Agreed .. Those on oxygen and them that need need are made by hospital and lung rehab as thay see what you and can't do using various test

But as gordon rightly say not everyone are the same

I was told it depends on how much your body 'retains' if you are a retainer then oxygen can do more harm than good, as someone else said it's down to the consultants with years of training and experience, a team of lab technicians and thousands of pound worth of equipment.

I had an emergency cylinder at home, and used to grab it at the slightest excuse, but after the comprehensive explanation from the consultants team I have never used it.
