Hi becraftygirl
I'm sorry to read you feel so frustrated - is it pulmonary rehab what you're waiting for? It may be worth chasing up with your GP again.
It is understandable to feel frustrated and upset - it can all be very hard to cope with.
We have lots of ways we can try to support you with this - we have specialist advisers, nurses and a counsellor - if you would like to call us we can arrange for someone to speak to you - even if it is just for a chat - 03000 030 555 - Monday - Friday 10am -6pm.
Cheers
Jo

Hate to dishearten everyone but PR for COPD seems difficult to get in my city to spite being reassured by the private hospital nurse that there are numerous groups for it in Coventry, I am still waiting following two Gp requests and a Consultants referral. The most recent request or reccommendation was in September 2012, and following a recent Xray supposedly necessary for PR, I am still waiting six months later. Hope the problem is not the same in other areas. Just thought BLF might like to know where there are breakdowns in the system.
My husband was told six years ago he was too well for pulmonary rehab. But then he started with colds and infections. I was really unhappy that the Docs happily gave another prescription for antibiotics and steroids without much else. My sister (who is in the nursing profession) found out that we have a specialist respiratory team in our area but you have to be referred by the GP. I rang our practise nurse and she referred him - which started the ball rolling and PR within 3 months. My advise would be to try to talk to someone at your surgery - practise nurse or respiratory nurse and ask her if she can help.
My husband joined the local BLF group - it has really helped him - mentally to know he is not on his own and the trips are pretty good!
There seems to be an assumption that if you are coping it is OK. I hope you find some answers and can get the support you need. TAD xx
