I think it may be an illusion. Someone once told me there's a fiery planet above the clouds which gives out heat and light. Some people do come out with silly ideas !

My grandparents told me that once,they said that in olden times you could see it for 9month of the year haha

Ah I know what your talking about yes it's called the sun, supposed to throw off some warmth and Vitamin D, but now you have to get the Vitamin in tablet form because the sun has disappeared, something to do with global warming.

Haven't even seen the sky here in Mansfield let alone anything else. I'm with Gripper on this one it's enough to turn the aliens away. 
We have had plenty of the misty stuff recently just to cheer us up!
No sun here at all today
I've just travelled the M62 from Manchester into West Yorkshire and "them thar' hills" have snow on them, which will probably be outside my front door tomorrow morning (snow, not the hills... lol) so it's hot water bottle and bedsocks for me tonight 
I understand that a Asteroid or such like can be seen in a clear sky over the weekend NW of the moon. Happy viewing
I think I saw it last year but never discovered what it was.....
