I take omeprazol for about 5 days every so often, no headaches but I do get a 'fuzzy' sort of head.

I never had headaches but I developed a very itchy rash all over my body and had to stop taking it. It was so bad that a student doctor used some photo's of me in a project on drug alergie's as I was a classic case. It seem's as though were all different and you'll probably have to stop taking it under doctors advise to see if its the cause of your headaches.

Iv been on them for 2wks,and for the last few days every day late morning I start with these bad heads,they last till early evening then fade ,nothing I take seems to help,I used to b on lansoprazol,but doc changed them over
Since they stopped my omeprazol I've been put on lansoprazol with no problems. I wonder why they changed your drug in the first place.
My husband was taken off them as they made him so ill he ended up in hospital on two drips as his calcium and magnesium had gone dangerously low .

Lansoprazole doesn't work for me but emeprazole is effective. No headaches for me but plenty of grief if I dont take it. I was put on an antibiotic which advised against digestive remedies sp I left out the E-prazole.
If you check the leaflet Meg you should find headaches listed as a common side effect. Get back to your Doc if you are worried though. x

Lansoprazol costs more then Omeprazol, I was told.
Omeprazol did not work for me, the acid reflux did not go away so I am back on Lansoprazol, I take qty 2 tablets in the morning, and all tends to be well, if not a Milk Shake sorts the acid out quicker then Maalox. meg_1950 go back to GP and say they are not suiting you, you do not need extra hassle.

never had any probs with omeprazole, lansoprazole is in the same family and some people prefer that. Ranitidine is excellent but alot more expensive than the other two hence why docs dont often plump for that one first. Ask about it maybe.
I have been on omeprazole for at least two years now and have been suffering from very bad headaches all of this time I never ever thought it could be the omeprazole I just never connected something I had been taking for my stomach with my head! I started taking them whilst living in Spain I will be discussing this with my gp next week and it's true that headache is on the list of possible side effects....it would be lovely if I have finally found the cause of my headaches thank you (in anticipation!)
Yes i get very bad heads i can hardly lift my head off pillow....occasionally i had nausea has the pain was great...now im off them no headaches at all...them are not good to take long term i guess...i used to feel so ill i couldnt function at all..but it was omaprozel im sure off it since on diet REFLUX has gone...sometimes a little heartburn but no acid thank god....used to really burn back of throat and take my breath away eating healthy has changed all that...try it you will be pleasantly surprised after a week....its feels good.....hope it helpsxx
