return visit to the doc is your best bet, you need to get that cough checked out.

Coughs can be a symptom of so many things. Zoee is right, you need to talk to a doctor to ensure that the true cause of it is found.

Well adviced everyone, however sometimes to spite many investigations and medical discussioons people are still left with a cough and no medical help for it. Some of the inhalers can help, cough suppressents too if it is only a reflex cough, honey& lemon drinks, herbal teas, and sucking lozenges or boiled sweets. But the Gp has to eliminate all possible illness causes first before you try home remedies only.

Hi, I used to have this, I was constantly coughing and trying to clear my throat. I was given carbocisteine which is a mucolytic that thins the mucus and have never had the problem since. I have capsules and I think it comes in liquid form too. So, if the doctor/nurse rules out an infection, maybe you could ask him/her if these are suitable for you. It took me ages via the copd nurse to get them, she kept saying I'll ask the doctor and months went by. I eventually went to see the doctor and got them there and then. Hope you've not got an infection though! Libby
