have c-o-p-d for last 4years now this last month nasty cough in back of throat, has anyone any suggestions please, now getting annoyed with it
return visit to the doc is your best bet, you need to get that cough checked out.
Coughs can be a symptom of so many things. Zoee is right, you need to talk to a doctor to ensure that the true cause of it is found.
Well adviced everyone, however sometimes to spite many investigations and medical discussioons people are still left with a cough and no medical help for it. Some of the inhalers can help, cough suppressents too if it is only a reflex cough, honey& lemon drinks, herbal teas, and sucking lozenges or boiled sweets. But the Gp has to eliminate all possible illness causes first before you try home remedies only.
I hope the GP can sort it for you if you go xxxxx
thank-you for your reply have appointment with nurse at surgery on wednesday will ask then
will make sure I check back to find out how you got on xxxxx
Hi, I used to have this, I was constantly coughing and trying to clear my throat. I was given carbocisteine which is a mucolytic that thins the mucus and have never had the problem since. I have capsules and I think it comes in liquid form too. So, if the doctor/nurse rules out an infection, maybe you could ask him/her if these are suitable for you. It took me ages via the copd nurse to get them, she kept saying I'll ask the doctor and months went by. I eventually went to see the doctor and got them there and then. Hope you've not got an infection though! Libby
thank-you libby, take the same tablets as you 2 a day but still got silly cough, sometimes i sound like a dog barking, but am going to see my nurse tommorow so will ask if theres anything else i can take, hope its not infection
