pneumothorax and flying

Is there anyone out there who has been on a long haul flight after surgery for a pneumothorax?

Yes, it definitely MUST be cleared by the surgeon who did your operation.........ASK! Plus ask YOUR OWN PHYSICIAN (GP) WHO KNOWS YOU WELL .....

i had a pneumo thorax 3 years ago, i loved my holidays abroad 2 or3 times a year, but my doc and the hospital both said no to flying any more ,(i was inthe merchant navy 10 years so i do`nt want any cruises
