Has anyone been treated by Stereo Tac... - Lung Conditions C...
Has anyone been treated by Stereo Tactic lung Radiotherapy. If so please relate your experiences good and bad. Side effects and progress.
Although disappointed that I got no response to my question, I came to realise that I might be one of the chosen few. STEREO TACTIC RADIOTHERAPY has only been available on the NHS for little more than two years. My own case is that I had a Bi- Lobectomy lung operation in September 2010 and was stunned that a new tumour was found on the remainder of my right lung in August 2011.
The surgeon decided that my latest lung function tests results were so poor that an operation would likely put me in a wheelchair. Lucky for me STEREO TACTIC RADIOTHERAPY was made available for me ( 3 TO 8 SESSIONS INSTEAD OF 20-25 SESSIONS OF TRADITIONAL RADIOTHERAPY FOR FITTER PATIENTS). It is now four months since I had the course and I have had increased breathlessness and continuous coughing with excess phlegm.
I am now on a second high dose course of Prednisolone (100ml daily for 7 days and already feel the benefit. I am due for a Pet scan on Monday and am keeping my fingers crossed that the consultant is happy when I meet him on Wednesday 13th June.
MY NEXT QUESTION IS :
DO WE HAVE ANY SPECIALIST DOCTORS OR CONSULTANTS WHO CAN EXPLAIN ABOUT STEREO TACTIC RADIOTHERAPY FOR THE BENEFIT OF MANY WHO DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT AND COULD POSSIBLY BE MISSING OUT ?
BE LUCKY
