The best thing I did Ethel, was buy a Nintendo Wii + WiiFit. I usually do 30 minutes exercising per day and quite often play some of the games (extra exercise) too. It's quite entertaining :)

Exercising the dog with walks is a great reason to get out

Finding it hard to replace favourite hobby of going to the pub not the same now that the smokes are not part of it. Have to find something my head does not link with a pint and a smoke with it

When I have the time wire work a form of jewerllery making is quite fun. At present I am studying for a degree so hobbies few and far between. Though I recommend a gentle stroll out and about and go watching nature or people can be really interesting what you see. Don't even have to venture into the countryside some amazing nature experiences can be seen from your doorstep. My local hedgehog is a darling. Be gone all you evil slugs from my garden lol.

Photography is a good one, not much energy expended apart from the walking necessary. Doing Jigsaws concentrates the mind. As mentioned above doing a home study course if possible for you, again good for the mind and an achievement. I do visit the pub, either with freinds or for a quite drink on my own and it doesn't have to be alcohol I also enjoy eating out.

I've fancies Crown Green Bowling for a while, anyone able to tell me how to get in to it?

It is essential having a hobby, and if possible a hobby that means getting out and about gaining fresh air and some gentle exercise. I used to walk up mountains and get lost with just a gps for company on the Brecon Beacons. That changed with copd so had to get another fullfilling hobby. So photography is now my passion. I don't have to walk far, often just stepping out the car with the camera. If you want to see some of my photography visit flickr.com/photos/52429508@...

Well thank you all so much some of my grandchildren play those electric game machines they are to fast for me. Going out for a pub lunch or pot of tea with friends is enjoyable. The Flat Green or Lawn Green Bowls clubs belong to associations best place to tell you where your local club is to get started. Our club has some bowls for new members so they do not have to buy their own before they have played.

kind regards Ethel
