I have oxygen 24/7 but it is my inhaler which helps me most with breathlessness. I am prescribed Trimbow and use 2 puffs in the morning and two in the evening. Hope this helps

I think you need to see your GP and have a change of inhaler, I wish you well.

Good morning Osha. I think if your having trouble with getting breathless. You need to be speaking to your g.p doctors or Respiratory nurse for them to check you over and change your Inhalers or do something to help you. Hope you can enjoy Christmas and the New Year. Take care. Brian

I think the breathlessness is the progression of broncheactesis to which there is no cure

There's no cure for any respiratory diseases but they should be able to help you with your breathlessness. There's no harm in seeing your respiratory nurse and see what she says. Brian

Hi Osha, surprisingly there is no relationship between oxygen levels and breathlessness, increased oxygen won’t stop breathlessness. Breathlessness is the chest muscles reacting to a perceived lack of oxygen. I practice diaphragm breathing, techniques making sure the out breath is twice the length of the in breath, breathing out through pursed lips can also help. Most people shallow breath only using their upper chest muscles instead of the diaphragm. I have had breathing advice from several different respiratory physios on how to use diaphragm breathing, well worth it if you haven’t already seen a physio

Thank you Biker. I think I have to re-read up on diaphragm breathing again

Also Biker do you do diaphragm breathing as an exercise or just when you’re out of breath. Thank you for your info

In addition to referral and diaghram have you checked out Trimbow technique with an aerochamber on Trimbow website. Made a difference to me.

I practiced diaphragm breathing two or three times a day and now it has become my normal breathing method
