What an interesting toadstool, We had a couple of edible mushrooms come up on our lawn, but sadly the slugs got there before we did. I hope the slugs enjoyed them. Your mushroom is wise to be growing up so high. xxxx

I hate slugs the whole thing makes me slightly feverish when I see them ...The old trees with broken limbs get lots of fungi in them ❤️❤️

We get some nice fungi in our woods, if only I could get out to see them, but the red spotted ones are rather unusual.

That's very kind of you. I can get out when it's not absolutely freezing, but I'm worried about traipsing about the woods in case I fall again. I feel very unbalanced still. I remember you did indeed post some red spotty toadstools a while ago. They reminded me of the brownies' houses in one of my children's books. Except that they didn't have doors and windows or chimneys.🍄🍄🍄 💖xxx

I didn't know you had a fall I'm sorry to hear that ... Its very much a confidence thing after a fall you have to take it slowly and build up again even use a walking stick to keep yourself upright ... I'm slipping up at the moment due to excess water and build up of mud it's quite an eye opener when your feet decide to do their own thing and the rest of the body follows on ....I will try my best ❤️🤍❤️🤍

that’s a great photo.the mushroom looks like a scallop shell ! I can’t get over how autumnal it is there. It’s just relentless force 9 wind with torrential rain and sleet here.

We have had terrible rain but mainly in the night... the wind can get bitter and chill my bones .. I have a sense of freedom when walking in the wind .. I can't wear bulky clothes so I just pop on a single layer of thermal and waterproof on top 🥰

Another lovely shot - I have a fungi tree in mind, or I did... just trying to remember where it was! I didn't have the camera with me when I drove past. If it was on the way to work, then I won't see it again (I retired on Friday!) but more time for walking and photography.
