Finally getting CT (chest, abdomen, pelvis) scan on Sunday.

I'm very scared not of the scan itself but getting the 'Mr. Hutton, I am sorry to have to tell you' speech with sympathetic looks on their faces. If the results are bad, how long does it take them to get in contact with you?

Hope it goes ok, and ask when you have the scan if they can tell you how long before the results are sent back to your GP.

When I had a scan the nurse told me the longer the result took the more likely the result was good news. I wish you well.

A scan will show any anomalies, it won’t identify the cause and if there is an anomaly further investigation will be required. If an anomaly is seen and if they think it may be a problem the follow up is usually very quick.
