After my 19 calls this morning I have waited for a call back.. now 7hrs.. Every call was like passing the buck.. I could do n more but wait.. now it’s too late for today as pharmacy closed hence no choice.. would never have thought that such a simple request would be so hard & complicated.. feel grim but taking loads of ventolin .. perhaps doc will cal this evening? who knows.. I’ll be back phoning tomorrow hoping for a result. haven’t seen a gp for over 3 yrs, don’t ask for much..will let you know.. love to you all ❤️❤️❤️xx

I’m sorry, it really isn’t good enough.

It totally seems to be geographic luck, plus medical practice.

Sending you strength to cope x 👍

Things are beyond dire I'm so sorry. Ring ooh they can send script to a late pharmacy (every area has a pharmacy that's open late until about 10pm) however it may not be close so if you don't drive or have anyone to collect its no good. Or if your rough and struggling go to a+e or ring 111 if your in UK.

This is poor care. Nobody ill should be ignored like you have been. I hope you get sorted in the morning.

that’s awful.the nhs meltdown is beginning to really scare me. My husband hasn’t had a proper COPD review since before lockdown. Once someone rang him and asked questions but that was it. They need to see how he looks and take bloods like they used to. I’ve taken to e-mailing now. Headed up in bold please put this before doctor and put with our medical records ‘. It seems to work and sometimes meds are delivered really fast. Any GP will be concerned about medical negligence. Better in writing and in records rather than all being verbal and passed around and getting nowhere. Can save their time and help GP prioritising too. Really hope you get sorted soon.

Good morning. That's not acceptable that your husband has not been seen by a doctor or respiratory nurse for so long. I personally would be ringing your surgery and asking to speak to the Practice manager and make a complaint. Good luck. Brian

Yes I think you’re right. I don’t really want to make a formal complaint tho as they are all so nice. They once saved my life when I had rare empyema, my lung collapsed and underwent emergency open thoracotomy. I’d rung the surgery to cancel a blood test appt as I felt too tired to walk up there. I thought I had a bad cold and was going to go and get some Night Nurse. But the receptionist - she told me later- had a premonition - sensed I was seriously ill and insisted the GP come to our house and she called an ambulance. That receptionist was quickly trained and promoted to head nurse! That was in the days long before Covid.

I rang yesterday asking for a diabetic review as I haven’t had one for so long. They said they had such a lack of nurses.

Everything seems to be falling apart! Not doing routine care anymore is going to have far reaching consequences..

I agree lodging complaint puts pressure on. (The Health Ombudsman put out a Notice recently that they are inundated by complaints)

sorry to hear this. Awful for you. Completely agree with battison. Everything in writing. Always, when you have no response. Saves wasted time and your precious energy. xx

Its disgusting that we cant get through to the doctors when we need it most. I hope you get through today x

Good morning. Hope your keeping as well as possible. Our doctors have now introduced the online treatment help form. You have to send a picture if it's like a rash or a swelling and details of your symptoms and they decide if it requires an appointment or not. This is to free up the phone lines for those who can't do online. But there's still things you have to ring up for. And still can't get through quickly. Brian

That's terrible!! Compared to you my GP practice is wearing a halo 😇. I rang my surgery yesterday for advice from the nurse, the Doc rang me back at 2ish, told me to get to the surgery for a check up as she didn't want to miss a window, if I needed it. I was seen, checked, given the all clear and back home for tea ☕. Persevere seems all you can do, I wish you well xxLesley xx

I'd phone NHS 24 tbh. That's just awful for you to go through so many calls .

I agree with the others. This is awful and completely unacceptable. My old surgery was like this but since changing my new ones is much better.

Can you change? I wish you luck anyway. x
