how are you today ?
That’s not great Jaybird as you will need some help. There must be something that can be done. Xxx
A Charity took it on as it seems in January but I have at home here since 16 th and only help has been a neighbour with young children and a job too. So little time .she will shop for me if i want any thing, but not eating . Told will be contacted next week but got a urine infection post catheter and had to surgery for antibiotic then had a visit from paramedic and antibiotic .
hope u soon feel better x
there seems be a lack of joined up thinking by services.
Have you tried
Social services
Council
WRVS
Hospital ward ?. The 1 you were on.
The charity that you said took it on.
Make a list and tick them off when you’ve spoke to someone.
I know it sounds lazy, but when I’m having a rough day I can only cope with making 1 call a day.
Sometimes I can cope with 1 morning,1 afternoon.
I hope you can get some help xx
thanks for list. l was handicappd by the gobble de gook but now can speak . I was given wad of help sheets from red cross who brought me home last week on sept 16 aday later than planned. When i looked at help sheets it wasnt intended for the area i lived in , it was a long week -end. After the funeral when i phoned was given alternative numbers to call. Didnt work. one person had no idea ofany help available and promised call back . No call back of course.
Couldnt do very much myself so it was really awful . I had asked neighbour who had spare keys to take all the fresh fruit i had bought for the week and eat and give it away. She was watering the plants too but didnt look like it
she took 2 nectainesand some cherries . And left the rest . I came back to 2? edible nectarines and some grapes but the fridge had horrors too . A box of grapes and 4 nectarines were covered in green moulds. Large yoghurt pot and cheese were all mouldy . Some fish and smoked salmon bits and cooked meats all festerering. And broccoli on workop with green kiTchen caddy for veg peelings open there too.
I was shattered . Found a large bag of on io ns rotting too. had not been ripened in sun and just went off. Couldnt get to bin outside garage door to throw them . Still there too. This was my full horror and had to clean it up when i couldnt even standup but went around doubled up . And so the week went o n over weekend and the funeral unti l tuesday . I had fallen through the net and nobody knew about me . I live in west ches and the red cross only works* in east cheshire. The hospital is1/2 mile nearer than that in west cheshire at chester where i worked myself for 25 years.
Today i feel a bit better but have to rest all time to recover i have had a soaking wet awakening each day so washing macine is now waiting to be emptied . Did the same last week so have to carry it upstairs in 3 stages . Had to write all this downwhile I could. Not good is it . Havent dreamt it .but have told people that this is what might await them too i used tobe proud ofthe NHS but now i pity theworkers there because iknow how the staff have been reduced and reduced again still further
I’m glad you didn’t find the list patronising.
I’m appalled by your situation,is there any prospect of any help for you ?
The pressure on staff just increases.
N the subject of the wet awakening have you considered incontinence pads for the night.
I know it’s embarrassing,but if it saves a wet bed,it’s worth it.
Most nights I’m ok,but occasionally I leak,so safer to use them
Amazon usually do next day delivery,if you have the energy to do a bit of research.
Aldi do a cheaper option, but haven’t tried them.
Take care xx
