I just know I would love to see all I am missing, I wish π€ π π’ π
I'll post till I drop ππ
Yeah, but don't drop for a very long time, yet.
Lots more posts in me yet a while fingers crossed touching wood stroking Budda belly and anything else for luck πππππ
Told my consultant as I am feeling very much better today, I thought I would stop my medication and inhalers. He has zero humour.
Must admit they don't have any humour what so ever , mine was going on about how I have to go on my machine six times a day and how it may break into my sleep pattern I told her if I wake up dead I'll remind myself that I have to take my meds she wasn't amused either πππ
Been in all hospitals in and around London, come to the conclusion we are lumps of meat, to be treated accordingly. Don't mind, really, most of the nurses have been a sight to behold. Even their attitude has changed over time, they only want to get through their day, nothing else.
In honesty the nurses are underpaid and have been since before COVID but it as taken its toll on them . I get what you mean though we are all just meat sacks with numbers. And the government just sees people with health issues as an incumberance to the system
I'm not a political person and think it's actually a global thing people with severe health conditions are kinda looked on as a bit of a burden it's pretty much the same here . Here instead of being in a hospital having care they send you home for your family to care for you . Palliative care is in your own home with your family dealing with 99 percent of everything.
It's not working but I don't and never will blame the nurses, vast majority are so nice, coming back from an operation and seeing their lovely faces makes me very grateful to them β€οΈ. Managers who cock the whole thing up ,is were the problem lays
Yes ππΌ I think the nurses carry a lot around with them. It's not fair on them
One thing I do miss, sunshine, not allowed to sunbathe or be out in it,not allowed to shower, bath ,use a sauna, hot tub, jacuzzi, have to keep the blinds shut so no rays of sun comes through, all because of fentinal, the pain killer that doesn't kill the pain, just dullls it. Have to keep the top half of my body as cool as possible. Heat can lead to massive heart attack. Life is a bummer at times, but it will not beat me, for sure.
You keep that positive attitude , stay focused on remaining positive , I say I'm in control it's not going to control me ok it's kinda got me over a bit of a barrel because I have set times six times a day to be on my machine and if I miss it I pay for it by having a seizure or blacking out so If I do go out I have to be in for set times so constantly clock watch . But we have to live by rules and we do . Like I said stay positive and focused ππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Thanks, have been positive π years. I just cannot sit down and let all of this get to me, am not and never have been a winger, cos every were you look, someone worse off than me, for sure.
I just go with the flow, the doctors here gave me a time limit but then said we're not god we only go on what it adds up to on paper. They even sent a letter saying exactly that to the DWP pension department. In the meantime I enjoy waking up in a morning and make the most of the day.
So do I,daveyboy, so do I. Every moment is precious π, I intend to keep going for a few years yet.
I am grateful to wake up , the pains etc are just proof your alive and still kicking that is my philosophy anyway ππΌπ
Am with you on that. At least, we managed to retain our dodgy humour. Words that comes to mind, keep right on to the end of the road, lol.
In the words of William Wallace you can take what you want but you can't take my humour ππΌπ let's just keep ticking like cheap Japanese watches. Lol
I'm all for that, going to sleep now cos drugs are leaving me washed out. Night young man, take it easy. Regards, Ian
Good night Ian rest well and speak tomorrow . Dave
Gooday young sir, ain't it bleedin hot, wow, wasn't expecting it to be like a furnice.
You are not wrong , hits a scorcher today and the breeze isn't doing much ! My first thought was I had died in my sleep and woke up down with the other guy and expected someone to give me a damn shovel πππ funny how your mind goes when you have a power nap ππ
Am Defford not going mounternearing or rock climbing, for sure
Well I thought about walking up the mountain at the back of me but they have stopped you going up the cross at the top of the mountain . The views are fantastic remember from when I was healthy enough to do it before πππ long time ago π
Got up this morning had my meds sat having a coffee and thought I'm 58 got the mentality of a twenty year old and the body from an archialogical dig
Wonder and Davey Boys both. You are wonderful positive fighters. Make me feel quite ashamed at my relative good health and how much you and many other people are having to deal with. What an example. All very best hopes and wishes for hearing more from you.
I speak for myself and I think wonder would agree , the hand your dealt is what you have to work with so you do the best you can you can't change fate ππΌ thank you for your words and wishes
My budgie died today, he was 13. I think it was my fault, my mate said taking a budgie for a walk using a leash wasn't a good idea. Berk Berk.
Had a similar problem with my goldfish it hated coming out it's bowl
Huge thanks to you,,Sedbergh, its all down to positive thinking, and not letting the buggers beat you lol
Cannot find my mojis !!!! but thumbs up !
Slippery little buggers those emojis ππΌππππ
Nuther day,Nuther dollar. Do you follow any sports, daveyboy. I gave up darts year's ago,far too exciting for me. Gave me palpitations.
Love Moto GP , boxing. Don't do football used to play pool but kept losing the balls in them bloody holes in the table
Like to watch American football and baseball. Don't mind a bit of golf, tennis is for fops, football is a disgrace, four hundred thousand pounds per week, what's that all about.
I know π running around kicking a bit of leather a quick kiss from ya team mates and all that money at the end of it ππ
My profound gripe is them not giving anything towards children's hospices, the one I support is very close to giving up, the government just will not give anything to the running of these place's,
Governments just don't care !! Kids deserve a chance to have a life , one thing I have noticed since being here on TV is the hospitals for kids in Egypt Canada and other countries but the UK just going down hill and its not the staff or doctors it's funding from the government that lets it down
My sister wendy passed in the St Vincent de Paul's hospice, at the age of 12.place run by nun's of the Italian order, she had brittle bones but she was a absolute delight and beautiful.
Sorry to hear that buddy . The big problem here is no hospice you are sent home and your family take care of you . I'm buggered because I'm on my own π so a case of live alone die alone .
Bummer, it is what it is, as.long as we can laugh about it,we are good π π π π
Totally agree 100percent we have to laugh and keep the jokes kicking. ππΌππΌππΌ
Well, jogging, abseiling swimming πββοΈ or read the papers, problems, problems and problems
I know scoua
I'll try again scuba diving and halo jumping out of the question this week ππ
Bungee jumping seems a good idea.
Depending on where you tie the bunji rope ππππ
I have 4 gorgeous pets praying mantris. 4 different colours, they give me hour's of fun.they are assassins though, they catch and eat their prey while it's still alive.
Pretty much like an English woman ππππ
Too right, I was just thinking that, haha
Just thinking about getting the horse π out for a game of polo, what you think.
How about on quads get some speed into the game π
Too right ,brit logic, tidying up my flat cos my lady cleaner comes tomorrow, don't want her to walk into a mess.
Hey leave some time you could do this
Are you up for some of this
Wow what a fantastic scene, well done with the photos, great stuff π.
Something you might consider trying on the local canal ππ
Very sorry to hear that your sister died so young. So sad to hear of a young life lost. Our son died when he was 3 and a half. A long time ago but .....
They will never be forgotten, bless them. What gets me, brittle bones can be treated nowadays, such is progress
It's the same with so many illnesses including cancer problem is with the price of the drugs and availability in your country
True, just amazing how treatment jumps and leaps in bounds.who would have thought a piece of metal would keep me alive.
In honesty nothing would suprise me today .
You have just been introduced to me as my new follower, weird or what
Not really buddy I added myself as a follower ππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Oh,right, sorry for the misunderstanding, it won't happen again, lol
Your as crazy as I am πππ
You got that right β οΈ π π π―
ππππ
Us crazies have to stick together π
Have been using cannabis oil, just to see if it will help me to blunt the pain. It actually blunts my pain quite a bit. 4 drops under the tongue gives me about 5 hours of semi relief. It also helps me to sleep. Am comfortable using it, the wacky part has been removed, the pain was full on, had to try something.
Hey if it works use it , I have good old fashioned morphine that definitely kills the pain but try to avoid it for obvious reasons it's addictive
Am on fentinal patches, 150, changing every 3 days, very dangerous drug, my doctor tells me its 100 π― times stronger than heroin, but still the pain gets through. It's now the biggest killer of addicts in the u.s.a.major problem for them. Th. ey mix it with other drugs, idiots
Well it's expected in the US π€£ , I mean CDs are seriously monitored here and you have to be in a bad way to get morphine you can't get simple things like cocodamol they look at you like your a druggy ππππ
I was on a drug called shortec until I read up on it. Mix it with fentinal patches and you can expect a death, mine. Yet it was one of the doctors who put me on it. Bloody fool. We as patients really need to be on the ball, for sure.
Oh definitely , I remember a few years ago I had chicken pox really bad doctor put me on fluxomiacine after the second dose I looked like I had been hit by a truck paramedics called out I was allergic to them so now I have to be double careful because of the language barrier and the fact I don't read Greek so I get the pharmacist to translate everything to me
Another one they put me on was called zopiclone, to take the pain down allowing me to sleep. It sent me doolally, put me into a coma at night, sleep so deep, I weed the bed, iwas collapsing all over the place. Saw my doctor and he said that for the ten minutes I was with him, he never understood a word I said. Wow, keep away from it.
Obviously he didn't understand Klingon πππ
Sometimes you have to laugh at doctors you explain everything as best you can and still they don't understand
Going out now with my youngest brother, taking me to a place called shake zulu, a great food place, can eat outside, south African food, yeah. Take care, young man, catcha later.byeee
Have a good one buddy laterz
The only darts I see is when the nurse does my bloods ππΌπ
I must be lucky as my consultant at Guys (London) has a great sense of humour and is willing to discuss my concerns, what travel plans I hope/would like to make and the best way to facilitate this if possible.Agree totally that nurses are incredible and not looked after properly as they deserve.
No I totally agree ππΌ the system here is completely different to the UK in some aspects it's far better . Take for instance if you need a scan or something like that you have to wait for an appointment in the UK . Here if your GP says you need an MRI CT or ultra sound x-ray triple x for veins etc all can be done same day
Thank you very much for your text, and hallo to you. The one consultant that I got on very well with was a professor John pepper who removed my blocked aortic valve and placed a mechanical one in. Thanks to him, I have had an extra 23 years, so far. He was a very nice and funny guy.
Good to hear that there are sympathetic medics around and doing their best to to make our lives easier.
Paramedics and nursing staff are very underrated by the government they don't see truly how hard they work and sometimes have to put up with abuse from drinks drug addicts and others
Great photoxxxx
Socrates street all the good shops up here ππ
So beautiful and full of history thank you so much for sharing. βΊοΈ Bernadette and Jack π xxxxxx π»π»
Always happy to share , it's a holiday without moving from the armchair πππ
Love the photos. Looks like you are packed with tourists.I have Covid so am enjoying the distraction of Greek photos - thank you.
Glad you like them it must be a nightmare for you but don't let it get you down I'll keep posting pictures ππΌππππ
This is the real tourist street: go to the shops in the side streets nearby and the same goods are much cheaper.
You would actually be surprised right now things are not as expensive even up Socrates street lots have changed since COVID. I've seen it over the past two years
Thatβs great. Looking at our weather today all grey it looks so nice to see blue skies. Makes me wish I was there.
I'm wondering what winter is going to be like this year . Last year was the coldest we had in fifty odd years and even had snow in most of the island
I have a radar for shops !!β¦ although admit to gotta have a bit of bartering on price! π
In honesty I think you would be happy with the prices. The prices are pretty reasonable but women do like to barter πππ
Just an after thought only women Scotts Irish and the wealthy like to barter ππππ
πππ
Glad you found it funny ππ
Had a vision I would get a lecture about how women know better than men how to save a penny πππ had a lecture like that from my mum bless her if she saved a penny on anything she thought it was fantastic πππππ
