It's great you sit watching the sun setting you turn your back and it disappeared or you just catch it 😂😂

Ah, my husband and I had an amazing meal of local small fish in a Symi Harbour restaurant, two months after we got married. The platter of fish was so large, the French couple on the next table applauded us when we finished it. Delicious! As my husband likes fishing, he was very interested in all the different types of fish we were served.

The variety of fish around the Aegean is fantastic but for an island surrounded by water fish is expensive

There is a piece of classical music called 'The Helios Overture' which the Danish composer Neilson wrote while he was in holiday in Greece. It pictures the sun rising, travelling over the Aegean and setting. I hear it in my head when I look at your photos. Hope that doesn't sound too weird. xxx

Rented an apartment on Symi harbour one year . It was great right on edge of water but above a taverna and there was an election while we were there . Everyone had to come back to their birthplace to vote and they all piled in on the ferries No alcohol allowed before voting for anybody ,,! They were very innovative - our wine came in a teapot . Unfortunately after voting closed they all gathered under our windows at the taverna nd discussed it all. Got louder and louder as night progressed and some oil drums on the quay there came in for a lot bangs as tempers rose . And they rang all the church bells too . Symi has a lot of churches. 350 I was told . I can believe it . . It was an experience . In the seventies not long after "the colonels" had been deposed from power so an election had more importance . Symi was busy in the day with tourists coming in on boats from Rhodes but lovely after they had all gone back . So if you go Davey then make it more than the one day.

I'm happy on Rhodes 👍🏼😂 the only other place I would like to see is Santorini. Remember one thing about church here it doesn't have to be big most are probably the size of your kitchen and yes they appear everywhere 😂😂😂

What do you want to see in Santorini? . Geologically it is fantastic but spoilt by tourists now who don't realise what it is or what happened there. Expensive too.
