Hi! I take Cetirizine every morning. It was the only one that would not clash with another med I was taking but now I don't take that anymore I might ask to change as I don't think it's that effective.

I also use a Benadryl nasal spray morning and night.

I have asthma as well and was given the nasal spray and antihistimines long before I was diagnosed with COPD and Bronchiectasis. I think I may be quite dependent on them now as when I take a break (which I do every so often ) I definitely still have symptoms. xx Moy

Hi I take ceterizine and Beconase, they keep it under some sort of control.Summer can be a bit rough.

I wear sunglasses outside and use Vaseline on the end of my nose.

When I’ve been outside I was my hands and face.to get rid of the pollen

Unless you are unsure of what the side effects would do to you, have a chat with a pharmacist if you think it will help

I used Avamys nasal spray for years until a nurse advised me to wean myself off it and only use it when the pollen count was sky high. I didn't bother to take it on my recent holiday- ha,ha- and discovered that the pollen season is later up North and that there is an awful lot of grass in Northumbria. I also use Loratadine tablets very occasionally. I would talk to a pharmacist if I were you. There may be newer things on the market.

You wont be "given" any antihystamines by your surgery as you can buy them over the counter even in supermarkets. I find I am affected by tree pollen, which comes early in the year, and I take Loratadine, only because it seems to be the cheapest and seems to work.

Also use Nasobec Hayfever (Beclometasone Dipropionate), as it's supposed to shrink polyps, which I'm sure I have.

I have hay fever along with asthma and Bronchiectasis. Fexofenadine 180mg is prescribed for me by my GP. It works well but I do still get some symptoms, they are just milder than they would be without them. Morning and evening I use Ipratropium Bromide as a nasal spray to relieve the congestion, again prescribed. I also use sodium cromoglicate 2% eye drops, but have to buy these myself from the chemist. I have also tried the gel that you put in your nostril to stop the pollen getting in but the jury is out on the effectiveness of that one.
