Help! I've been poshified.

I don't usually leave the sound on, but I just replied to Skis without turning it off (all that excitement)and found a very posh voice reading my response back to me. I sounded like Eliza Doolittle after she's been elocuted. That's not me. Help!! How do I get a normal North London voice? 😮😲😬🙃

Oh I don't know old chap, there is nothing wrong with a bit of posh. One has to do what one has to do you know otherwise one might sound common. 😁😂 x

My mother would have agreed with you- not that she thought we sounded common. I remember my dad reproaching my younger brother, 'Don't say fink, say think.' And Philip indignantly replied, 'I did say fink.' He couldn't hear the difference. That's North London for you.😄😄😄

I had speech lessons as a child i think it was to try and cure a severe lisp? I was made to recite things like "six thousand six hundred and sixty six "i am sure i just sprayed people with spittle and ended up with a posh cockney accent but at least the lisp disappeared from then on 😂👍

I don't really know what the sound was. It came on uninvited when I posted, echoing my words. it's never happened before. I don't know whether I pressed some button or whether the laptop was playing up. Just hpe it will go away.
