Very sad indeed. I was just thinking about him too. A wonderful man, may he rest in peace. Xxxx

Yes I just saw it, very sad but so glad his family were able to be with him.

I agree but would like another legacy for him. Allow families to be with loved ones. I think it is absolutely barbaric that thousands of people are dying with no loved ones with them.

Yes sad but that would be out of our control and at the hospitals discretion, I know our local hospital has closed all doors to visitors to avoid further covid spread. Although I am sure some hospitals will make exception if it was known the patient was on borrowed time and I suspect a special room has to be set aside and family would have to quarantine afterward. I do know of a family that were unable to visit covid dying relatives in cornwall, very upsetting for the family.

I was watching the NASA spaceflight live channel, when it was announced on the bottom of the screen.

I too am pleased that his family was with him.

A wonderful man who had an amazing final year to his life with his fundraising, a knighthood from the Queen and a final holiday in the Bahamas (read that it was on his bucket list). He was part of a tough, quite humble generation, many of whom lived to a great age. I doubt that we will see the like again.May he rest in peace and his family be comforted by being with him at the end.

An inspiration to us all, what a gentleman. We must not let his inspiration fade. His saying "Things will get better". I will always remember him.
