At the moment even tho dr mentioned I have centrilobular emphysema he said I’m at moderate risk if caught covid , thing is I’m a carer and always a risk at the moment there is cases in the area and even thre people at work and I am scared of catching it but also need to b at work. Otherwise I won’t get paid , I’m not on the shielding list but that’s the only way work would pay me if I was furloughed. If us vulnerable guys caught covid would it b straight away us in danger , has anyone caught it and been ok

Being a carer you should be quite high up the priority list for the vaccine. I believe 2greys and crashdoll have had covid.

Tha carers that come to me are on the priority list for the vaccine along with the NHS etc. I would enquire about that and get yourself immunised.

I can confirm that as a carer you should be getting the vaccine very shortly. Getting Covid is not an automatic death sentence. As moogle has said, I had Covid in April along with my partner who brought it home from her work as a carer in a nursing home.

Not only did I have Covid, I was not admitted to hospital either and I have a few comorbidities. Lung cancer (in remission), very severe Emphysema, Ischaemic Heart Disease, Peripheral Arterial Disease, Hypertension, 70years old and male. Any of which is said to increase the risk of mortality, yet here I am, still alive and kicking. Not saying it was a pleasant experience though.

Hope you can stay safe until the vaccine takes effect. It is a worry. Best wishes; fingers and everything else crossed for you.
