Face masks becoming normal but a flashpoint and source of conspiracies for some, while 'Covid-secure' behaviours sticking.

A new UK study by King’s College London and Ipsos MORI finds that while people are getting used to wearing face masks, they have been a source of tension for some, and notable minorities believe conspiracy theories about them.

The study also finds that precautionary “Covid-secure” behaviours are sticking, with reported compliance largely unchanged from May.

The study is based on 2,237 interviews with UK residents aged 16-75, and was carried out online between 17 and 20 July 2020. This was before the wearing of face masks became mandatory in shops in England, but after the measure was announced by the government.

Very interesting. In guessing this was published before the recent increases in cases in the past day or so. I must be a luddite, I didn't know you can get news on WhatsApp and I thought YouTube was just for videos. 🙄

Thanks for the info. It would be interesting to know when it was compiled, and if there’ll be another such survey in a few weeks time. I’d be interested to know if attitudes and opinions change with the changing situation, or if people are simply getting accustomed to and more accepting of the new normal.
