My partner and I have been shielding from the start. Now that it’s being lifted, my partners employers requireD him to have an antibody test, slap bang in the middle of a minor injuries unit, still open and dealing with infections, viruses etc etc only one way in and out. I saw at least a dozen patients wandering in with no masks and no social distancing in the reception area. Is this really his employer keeping him safe when they are the ones that designated the testing site???

I’m not sure of the answer to the question you are asking, but in my opinion it was totally unnecessary. If your husband has been shielding, has had no symptoms, what on Earth makes them think he will have antibodies?
But can one have antibodies if one is asymptomatic? Do they test because of that possibility? Do those people not show any symptoms because their bodies immune systems are already fighting the virus? I find it so very confusing as even the so-called experts in this field seem to have conflicting views.
We have been shielding since essentially the end of February because we saw this virus gathering momentum across Europe. Whether he has antibodies to it or not will not change the fact that he will be going back to work in what will be made a covid safe environment. Yet they sent him into an area that is not covid safe to comply with a tick box exercise
There doesn't seem to be any ryhme or reason to the thinking as far as I understand it!
