Pleurisy

Hi, I had pleurisy less then a year ago, I play GAA and anytime I’m very out of breath I get a “stitch” like pain just under my right rib cage.

(It’s only ever this side, this is going on about a month or so, this is also the side I had pleurisy on)

I know it’s not a stitch, when feeling it with my thumbs it feels like a build up of scar tissue and is sore to touch.

This pain does not happen when I’m going about my day to day, it’s only when I am out of breath(when jogging or going 80% it doesn’t happen).

I am wondering if anybody has experienced this? do I go to the doctor about this, or will it gradually go away?

I get it, always on the same area that I had pleurisy on 2 or 3 times years ago. It seems to reoccur when I'm run down. I haven't been to the gp about it - however, I'm not suggesting for one moment that you don't see yours! Do have a word as then it will be on your medical notes and will be investigated when you've complained of it several times. P

Please do what peege says - go and see your GP. At the least you will get some sort of reassurance and peace of mind. You can't go on like this.
