Can anyone tell me can someone with emphysemia have a local anaesthetic at the dentist 😊

Yes I have had loads just tell them the meds you are on .

Thank you for your reply I normally go for sedation but I do not fancy going anywhere near a hospital

Had one just before christmas

Had a chat with dentist. Reassured me there wouldn't be a problem

Yes. Really important to write down ALL your medications on the pre treatment form. I believe that if steroids are in our medication then we have the anaesthetic which doesn't contain adrenaline. P

PS that includes the steroids in inhalers

I have emphysema & I’ve had local anesthesia in the past with no problems . Also, had a tooth extraction with general anesthesia two weeks ago & had no complications. You will be told what to expect & all the necessary preparations. You should be safe - don’t be afraid. Good luck!

Well got to dentist I had adrenaline going with me so BP up bpm up sats down he wouldn't touch me asked me how I wouldid feel if I had a appointment tomorrow at a dentist slightly anxious anxious very anxious or extremely anxious I extremely the hand sanitizer he had was very strong I said it's not good for my lungs smells are bothering me he had gloves on then just before he put the X ray in my mouth he used the hand sanitizer then held the X plastic x ray with his freshly sanitised hands grrrrr resthe of day tight throat so got lift from my daughter and grandchildren mask on after leaving dentist with a I use these only these antibiotics even showing him the damm box he eventually gives me a prescription and referral for sedation at hospital because he won't take the time to calm me down to have the damm tooth out and 10 miles there another 15 miles to a chemist he has given me another antibiotic then I had words with him to educate him I have had side effects before I TAKE THIS FOR A REASON he was arguing with me well today I hope to have the proper Meds wish me luck 😠
